At Bowery, New York's Fridman Gallery, Sahana Ramakrishnan’s Ocean of Time melds ancient myths and massive floods, woven into myriad ages and dotted by species that would delight Charles Darwin. Her debut mirrors her brilliance as a RISD Scholar and alumnus who has an aesthetic that is born of a parchment of memories both genealogical and archeological. The animals and forms that swirl in her works are born of grace and gravitas—each one emanating an energy unknown, a galaxy of fantasia. Hindu and Buddhist elements vie with each other to create a corollary of conversations.
