Madeleine Skrzynecka
A World of Her Own
November 11 – December 13, 2026

Fridman Gallery is honored to present A World of Her Own, the first U.S. solo exhibition by Madeleine Skrzynecka.
Opening Reception
Wednesday, November 11, 6-8pm
Madeleine’s paintings are fragments of a world between memory and imagination. The women who inhabit it are occupying public settings, yet their presence feels quiet and private. Madeleine is interested in femininity in its most delicate sense: sensitivity, intimacy, softness, ritual, and the inner life beneath the visible. Her heroines belong to an imagined universe, moving through rooms, gardens, summer landscapes, and interiors that feel strangely familiar. Their silhouettes, clothes, gestures, and surroundings are a language of their own. The monochromatic blue creates a certain distance, but also a sense of safety. Within it, the figures are dreamlike, as if they exist outside ordinary time.

What is longing? How can melancholy arise from a yearning for something we can no longer experience? – Madeleine Skrzynecka

Madeleine Skzynecka (b. 2000, Katowice, Poland, lives and works in Madrid, Spain) explores a space between memory and dreams through monochromatic paintings that evoke longing and loss. Madeleine’s most recent solo exhibition titled The days folded in your silence took place at Roamer Project in Madrid. She received her MFA from the Faculty of Painting at The Academy of Fine Arts, Katowice, Poland, in 2024.
