Fridman Gallery is pleased to present Calder Plays Theremin, a film installation featuring the multi-movement orchestra for the theremin “performed” by Alexander Calder’s artworks and composed by Dorit Chrysler, a Berlin-based composer and sound artist. Chrysler was commissioned by The Museum of Modern Art to make a sound piece by having two of Alexander Calder’s sculptures, Snow Flurry, I (1948) and Man-Eater with Pennants (1945), interact with and “play” the theremin.
