Fridman Gallery is honored to present Cities and Eyes, curated by Anouk Focquier. The exhibition features seven media works exploring urban environments through a variety of lenses. The title ‘Cities and Eyes’ is inspired by the book ‘Le Città Invisibili’ written by Italian author Italo Calvino in 1972. ‘Le Città Invisibili’ was originally published by Giulio Einaudi Editore

About the Curator

In 2014 Anouk Focquier founded Berserk Art Agency, a nomadic connector platform for visual & media arts.

Berserk Art Agency works with audio/visual and media artists and organisations to help them grow in depth, with a focus on artistic development, production and networking. The agency serves as a stepping stone and an exchange platform where people, knowhow and means are shared to nourish the international arts community.

Anouk Focquier researches the relationship between contemporary art institutions and society and how we can foster this relationship.

She has curated various solo exhibitions and between 2021-2023 co-curated the large scale art integration project of Haren Prison (Brussels) in collaboration with Ief Spincemaille, which commissioned 11 new permanent art works.

Anouk serves as a board member for several Belgian based art institutions and organizations and is appointed member of the funding commission of the Flemish Arts Department.
